The University of Nairobi Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (CEMA) in conjunction with the University of Nairobi Centre for Health Informatics and Digital Health at the Department of Computing & Informatics through funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is offering Master’s Fellowship positions in Health Data Science and Information Technology.

Position: Fellowship (9 positions)

This is an immersive program that aims to bridge the gap between academia & data science by allowing Fellows to work with live code, real health data sets, and CEMA’s team of Epidemiologists and Department of Computing & Informatics faculty to master the skills that can be applied towards managing a range of important and emerging public health problems.

Some of the tasks that the Fellows will work on may include analysing complex datasets to identify actionable insights and results to support data-driven decisions, implementing and validating predictive models in languages such as R and use of Machine Learning algorithms, as well as creating and maintaining statistical models, developing dashboards and visualisations to identify health trends, associations and patterns.
