Modelling Output

During the COVID-19 crisis, every country has required insights from modelling to guide responses. Although some modelling outputs from several well-established institutions covering multiple countries including on the African continent, Ministries of Health leadership and National Response task forces have found it challenging to interpret them and derive the recommendations without the help of experts.

In Kenya, a technical review committee on modelling (chaired by Thumbi Mwangi) formed through the National Task Force to overcome this challenge has played the critical role of rapid peer review of modelling methods, outputs and interpretation for models focused on Kenya.

This committee is made up Researchers, Modelers, Statisticians, Virologist and infectious disease experts from various organizations.
